A charity that began very close to home

Now the clocks have gone back, I'm trying to make sure I get out for a dusk walk towards the end of the working day. Today's walk took me past a significant landmark - less than five minutes from my front door sits Heworth Moor House, the original home of and inspiration for the Heworth Moor House Trust, a fantastic small charity I've been privileged to serve as a Trustee for the last five years. The Trust provides practical help to buy essential household items for families across Yorkshire. I'm proud to have played a small part in its history, working with Joe Gardham of Social Vision to develop a new logo and website and help streamline the grant application process. I wish the team well as they continue this vital work.
